Senior Chemist/Paint Technologist

Our client is a dynamic and leading Automotive paint refinishing company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Rapid business growth means they now require the services of an experienced and qualified senior chemist/Paint Technologist on a 2 (two) year contract basis (renewable at option of both parties.) The incumbent would:
- Report to senior management orally and in writing, submit project plans, and budgets for approval and report on progress.
- Be responsible for procuring raw materials in conjunction with procurement department.
- Assist with product roll-out, including technical training to production and sales staff.
- Be required to keep full and proper records of all formulations, raw materials.
- Be required from time to tome to assist with technical queries in regard to the company's current solvent based products and assist QC department.
Candidate Requirements:
- Appropriate qualifications at senior and influential chemist level.
- Experience in the research & development and roll-out of basecoat systems and water-based systems.
- Experience in setting up a research & development facility.
