The Aims
- To maintain the status of the Association, as the leading international learned society for the surface coatings industries.
- To attain a Royal Charter.
- To co-operate with other international organisations in the surface coating sector.
- To maintain close and active liaison with relevant organisations within the surface coatings industries, such as trade associations, research organisations and other learned societies.
- To support all these organisations through publicity, attendance at meetings, joint social and technical events and production of publications for these organisations.
- To consider the welfare, aims, interests and aspirations of the Members and, where appropriate, assist and support the companies and industries that employ them.
- To inform and advise the Members on any matters considered in their interest.
- To play a supportive role in the education of the next generation of surface coatings scientists and technologists.
- To encourage the continuing professional development of the Members.
- To encourage the development of appropriate technical standards, nominate representatives to BSI and international standard making organisations and give publicity to relevant standards.
