The Oil and Colour Chemists' Association (the Association) is a professional body/learned society for scientific/technical personnel within the worldwide surface coatings community. Individuals are encouraged to apply for membership and, on election, will be entitled to receive benefits of membership in return for the payment of an annual subscription. There is no requirement to pay an initial application fee. After election, the annual subscription applicable depends on the grade, or class, of membership, and in which country the member lives. Details of membership subscriptions can be obtained from the Membership Secretary.
There are four grades of membership and three classes of professional membership:
For each grade of membership, with the exception of Honorary Membership, there are Regulations which provide the strict rules of the Association to assess the application, and Guidance Notes which interpret and explain the Regulations.
Individuals may apply for election to any grade, with the exception of Honorary Membership for which applicants may not apply but are nominated by their peers.
If you require further clarification on any aspect of these Regulations, please contact the Membership Secretary who will be able to assist you.
In drafting the Regulations, we have followed common English usage. If we use the word 'he' we imply 'she', unless the context explicitly forbids this interpretation.
