OCCA is continuing to monitor the ongoing situation with respect to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). We are following official UK government guidelines, which advise on how to contain, delay and mitigate the spread of the virus.
In line with the most recent government official guidance, all face to face OCCA meetings and events have been cancelled until further notice. However, we are focusing our efforts into providing a number of new online initiatives, including our newly launched Weekly Webinar series, Council & team meetings, networking and social events, primarily via our new Zoom platform.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2020
The FIFTY-EIGHTH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION
will be held at 2.30 pm on Thursday 24th September 2020

Owing to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, this year’s AGM will be hosted as an online Zoom webinar event – with panelists comprising a selection of our Trustees and guest speakers.
Attendance at the AGM is free of charge. Members wishing to attend the AGM MUST pre-register their attendance online (see below).
Following the AGM all members and their guests will be given the option to take part in either or both of the two social activities we have planned - both of which will be virtual events via Zoom:
A. ‘virtual online Gin Tasting session and distillery tour’ (sold out)
In conjunction with the City of Manchester Gin distillery. The session will be hosted by one of the Gin Tour team who will provide a video tour of their distillery, talk us through their Manchester Three Rivers super premium gin, the botanicals that make it unique and teach us how it is made. There will even be a cocktail tutorial!
All you’ll need is ice, internet connection and some nice garnishes – we’ll send everyone details about what ingredients to have to hand ahead of the evening.
The session will commence at 6pm and will last approx.75 mins.
Cost: £15.00 per person, which includes receipt of your very own tasting kit, to be delivered to your home in advance of the event.
B. charity fundraising ‘Evening at the Races’ in aid of Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research
This has been designed to raise funds for Kidscan - a charity based within Salford University Chemistry Dept researching alternative cures for childhood cancer. Prof. David Pye and Dr Joanna Denbigh will join us on the evening to provide more insight into the fabulous work being undertaken by the Kidscan team, staff & students at Salford University.
The fun starts immediately after the gin tasting & distillery tour at 7.30pm
Cost: £25.00 per person – which includes your participation & betting on each of the 8 races.
