Abstract:

As consumers become ever more colour aware, more and more manufacturers away from traditional users of colour measurement equipment find themselves now having to quality control their products to set tolerances.

As a result, the challenge from the colour measurement perspective is how to measure many of these samples which are no longer flat paint panels, woven fabric swatches of plastic chips.  Instead, we are faced with curved automotive parts, molded plastic components, cosmetics and natural products such as wood and marble, fruit juice, and even alcohol.

In order to meet these challenges, there needs to be both colour measuring devices which offer different practical measurement solutions and the ability of the Applications Engineer to be creative in finding ways in which to successfully, and accurately, measure such samples.
