OCCA is continuing to monitor the ongoing situation with respect to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). We are following official UK government guidelines, which advise on how to contain, delay and mitigate the spread of the virus.
In line with the most recent government official guidance, all face to face OCCA meetings and events have been cancelled until further notice. However, we are focusing our efforts into providing a number of new online initiatives, including our newly launched Weekly Webinar series, Council & team meetings, networking and social events, primarily via our new Zoom platform.

Owing to the ongoing pandemic, it has not been possible to arrange the usual OCCA Burns Supper at the Erskine Bridge Hotel for February 2021.
However, owing to the success of our virtual gin distillery tour and tasting that we ran as a social event as part of this year’s national AGM, we have successfully secured a private online whisky tasting with Glengoyne Distillery, a leading Scottish distillery situated on the outskirts of Glasgow, as an ‘Alternative OCCA Burns Supper.’
The event will take place on Thursday 25 February 2021, commencing at 7pm.
It will consist of an online 1.5 hour virtual distillery tour and whisky tasting, together with a sprinkling of Burns’ poetry and a couple more surprises thrown in. The Glencairn Distillery Ambassadors will take the guests through a flavour journey and explain how the whiskies are created. The tasting kit includes a dram of 10, 12 and 18 year old Highland Single Malts plus a mystery dram that is revealed on the night, together with a Glencairn tasting glass.
The session is aimed to be informal and interactive with guest participation fully encouraged!
Price per guest: £40.00 incl VAT – which includes postage of the tasting kit to all particpants’ homes in advance of the event and entry into a prize draw to win a bespoke bottle of whisky.
Sadly, owing to new restrictions, guests must reside in the UK since the distillery is currently unable to arrange for kits to be shipped internationally.
The maximum number of participants the distillery can accommodate is 100, so plenty of room for all who wish to get involved.
Pre-booking & payment is essential. Access to the event will be provided by via a pre-registered zoom link, which will be issued with each booking confirmation.
Final date for booking: Thursday 11 February, to allow time for the kits to be dispatched.
