Our Series 10 of OCCA Weekly Webinars continues with "Coasol® - non VOC solvents" presented by Steve Hancill of Seqens Custom Specialities. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 21 June at 2:30pm.
Abstract:
Seqens Custom Specialties is located in North East England across two manufacturing sites and produce c. 70KT/year of speciality chemicals, many of which are sold in the coatings and related industries globally. Specialising in reactive distillation, products are predominantly ester and alcohol-based chemistries and we have an ever-increasing focus towards producing more environmentally benign products. We are a proud holder of the EcoVadis gold medal. This recognizes how the company is implementing actions and policies aligned with its sustainability ambitions.
The first and second generation from Seqens Custom Specialties was Coasol. A low VOC solvent for use to replace traditional coalescent solvents with lower VOC profile, it is also able to be used to reduce VOC content in solvent based systems, therefore reducing VOC element of coatings systems. The second generation is Coasol 290+, a non VOC product. Coasol 290+ is Clean Air accredited to give coatings companies an advantage particularly for DECO coatings. Coasol 290+ can also be used to reduce the VOC content of formulations when using traditional solvents in your formulation.
Having successfully produced our non-VOC, biodegradable, Coasol® Technology for more than 10 years we are pleased to introduce our next generation solvents with a bio-renewable content ranging from 60-100%. The bio-renewable solvents answer the growing need from the coatings industry to leave less impact on the world in manufacturing coatings products and demand from the consumer for this type of RM feedstocks.
