Venue: Webinar
Date: Wednesday 30th April 2025
Time: 14:30 – 15:30
OCCA Weekly Webinars Series 16 begins with "Mass balance boosts sustainability of energy curable PU dispersions" presented by Michel Tielemans of allnex. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 30 April at 2:30pm.
Abstract:
We explore the ecological benefits of this waterborne product range with a strong emphasis on carbon footprint reduction. The combined introduction of bio-carbon from renewable feedstock and bio-carbon allocated from certified ISCC protocol results in a significant level of better carbon in the polymer.
The presentation delves into the concepts detailing the certification process and the calculation methodology for better carbon content. This innovative approach facilitates the creation of sustainable drop-in alternatives to commercial products and fosters the shift toward a green economy.
Several model products are highlighted with their new value proposition using mass balance. In particular, the performance of our novel biobased polymer dispersion is presented in more detail and shows a unique level of 85% better carbon.
This achievement constitutes a noteworthy advancement towards best sustainable practices in the coating industry.
