OCCA Weekly Webinars Series 16 continues with "Advances in precipitated silica matting agents from Qemetica" presented by Adam Riley of Qemetica Silica. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 14 May at 2:30pm.
Abstract:
Low gloss and matte finishes continue to be in high demand from customers and remain a challenge for coatings formulators in end use applications from printing and packaging to wood and industrial coatings. Coatings chemistry also plays a part, with the challenge being especially high in 100% solids and UV/EB cure systems. The new generation of precipitated silica matting agents from Qemetica provide a toolbox for formulators to achieve low gloss coatings without compromising mechanical performance or rheology. Key benefits include improved transparency, incorporation and dispersion and high matting efficiency in a wide range of systems from classical solvent-borne through water-borne 2K to radiation curing.
