Abstract:

Have you ever wondered why it is, that sunscreen stays inside the bottle when turned upside down, but spreads smoothly when applied on skin? It all has to do with the rheological behavior of a specific material. In this talk we will explore the basics of rheology, how different instruments can measure different aspects of a fluid’s behavior and examine the differences between relative and absolute measurement systems by looking at various practical examples.
