OCCA Weekly Webinars Series 19 continues with "Next‑Level Matting with CFRP Technology – Efka® PX 4720" presented by Maurice Epple of BASF. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 6 May at 2:30pm.

Abstract:

Formulating stable, ultra-matt UV-curing coatings is challenging due to the poor compatibility of silica matting agents, high viscosity, and limited formulation robustness at elevated matting levels. Efka® PX 4720 is a CFRP-based dispersant specifically designed to address these challenges in 100% UV systems. Its precisely tailored block-copolymer architecture enables efficient wetting and stabilisation of silica matting agents, resulting in significant viscosity reduction while maintaining ultra-low gloss performance. This allows formulators to achieve deeply matte surfaces without compromising processability, leveling, or application performance.

The presentation will introduce the CFRP technology behind Efka® PX 4720, discuss key performance benefits versus benchmark dispersants, and share formulation insights relevant to demanding industrial and wood coating applications.
