Venue: Webinar
Date: Wednesday 24th June 2026
Time: 14:30 – 15:30
OCCA Weekly Webinars Series 19 continues with "Acrylics for Exterior Coatings Without Compromise: Formulation Versatility, Durability and Dirt Pick-Up Resistance" presented by Maurille Secher of Synthomer. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 24 June at 2:30pm.
Abstract:
Exterior architectural coatings are designed to protect buildings from environmental exposure while maintaining appearance over time—particularly in demanding urban and industrial environments. In this webinar, Maurille Secher will discuss why dirt pick‑up resistance is a critical performance attribute for vertical exterior coatings across both thin-film decorative and semi-thick masonry systems, and how it is evaluated using accelerated testing designed to reflect real‑world conditions.
Maurille will also introduce Pliotec™ DPR 30, a next‑generation acrylic polymer engineered specifically for exterior applications, demonstrating how it delivers outstanding dirt pick‑up resistance without sacrificing key properties such as flexibility, adhesion, and durability. Drawing on recent results showing up to 60% less discoloration in comparative testing, the session will explore how advanced polymer design can overcome the traditional trade‑off between cleanability and film flexibility—particularly in higher build façade coatings.
The session will highlight how this balanced performance approach enables coatings to maintain a cleaner appearance for longer, helping to raise the bar for modern exterior coating technology.
