OCCA Weekly Webinars Series 20 continues with "Color Matters – 45°c:0° or d:8° (spin/spex) - Which Instrument Geometry fits your application?" presented by Henrik Folkerts of BYK-Gardner GmbH. The webinar will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 14 October at 2:30pm.

Abstract:

The final color impression of a product is not only defined by the pigmentation of the substrate or paint, but also by the surface properties. A high gloss sample with same pigmentation is visually judged darker by the eye when compared to a matte or structured sample.

International standards define two different geometric conditions of spectrophotometers to measure color - 45°c:0° and d:8° (spin/spex). Both measurement geometries are constructed differently and consequently achieve different results.

This webinar provides insight into the different operating modes of the devices and offers guidance on selecting the right geometry.
