The following speakers will make up the panel:

Laura Mott, Business Growth Manager

Laura Mott joined the University of Salford in 2019 as an Enterprise Advisor, supporting many entrepreneurial students in setting up start-up businesses. She delivered enterprise advice, training and support to students and graduates, developing collaborative opportunities for students to engage with business partners.

Now working as the Business Growth lead within the Industry Collaboration and Commercial Services team, Laura is responsible for creating strategic, relationship focused engagement with industry partners.

Prior to joining the University of Salford, Laura was a consultant Social Media Manager and Strategist working with SME’s across industries in B2B and B2C. Helping businesses to build growth by leveraging the power of social media.  

Paul Cihlar, KTP Development Manager

Paul Cihlar has been Initiating partnerships between industry and academia for 17 years. The KTP team is recognized as the national ‘gold standard’ for KTP management. Paul and the KTP team lead a successful end-end support service which sets Salford apart from other Universities, Colleges and Research Organisations across the nation. Paul’s areas of expertise are commercialise research and exploit patents and Technology and knowledge transfer.

Adele Lochman, Apprenticeships Operations Manager

Adele Lochman works with the Degree Apprenticeship Team. Adele and her team are responsible for enabling and promoting growth in the University's apprenticeship portfolio and apprentice numbers as well as supporting relevant teams across the University to manage our apprenticeship students throughout the apprenticeship life cycle.

Dr David Pye, Academic Lead, Chemical Sciences, Reader in Molecular Bioscience

Dr Pye has worked in biomedical science and clinical research for over 25 years. Currently senior lecturer at the University of Salford, Dr Pye teaches at masters and undergraduate level in drug design and biomedical science.
David is currently the scientific director of Kidscan, which is a children’s cancer research charity that operates from the University of Salford. In addition to supporting national research into the treatment of children’s cancer; Kidscan also offers an undergraduate placement scheme that allows Salford undergraduates to complete an industrial placement with Kidscan funded researchers.
